wireless driver quits working after every reboot

i have a linksys wireless router BEFW11S4 V2 and a wireless linksys card WMP11 V2.7.

This card is installed in a system with win2000 with SP4.

Every time i install the driver/software, then shutdown, install the card, boot back up. it works fine. BUT, once i reboot, the card always says: "Not installed" after every reboot or shutdown/reboot. It will never hold its driver config. Ive updated to the latest driver required for the wireless device and it STILL happens. The card requirments says: for OS win98, ME,win2000 and XP.

Anyone else run into this issue before? Any ideas HOW to keep the driver enabled after a reboot?
