Wireless connection

Hi,

I've got an Acer Travelmate 803LMi and a Netgear 54Mbps wireless router.

for the most part its been ok but recently its been getting quite buggy. Whenever it detects another wireless network it gets all confused and refuses to connect to my router or if it does it disconnects frequently. The signal strength when its connected is fine, just disconnects for some reason. After that it has a hard time connecting again... usually rebooting the router does the trick.

any ideas? thanks

yeah, thats the way its setup. is there a way to block all other networks?

also, sometimes it will bring up a message saying wireless netwwork available so i click connect... nothing happens for a while and then it just says wireless network available again

maybe my router is messed up

Try it with one of the 39.99 Netgear PC card wireless. That would rule out the router. I suspect the built-in wireless in the lappy.

think i solved the problem. i changed the channel and seems to work now. i tihnk there were just too many people in my apartment block using the same (default) channel causing too much interference.
