wireless connection question "how-to?"

We're getting wireless internet shortly, and tonight I had been trying to connect my computer, wirelessly, to my father's router upstairs. Problem I have is that the signal is about 20-25% strength.

Can I use my router as a bridge to his? For instance, my wireless to my wireless router, wireless router to wireless router, with his router being the internet connection?
 
I'm a little confused, you seem to have wireless already setup, so what do you mean by getting wireless internet shortly?
Plus, give the models of the routers you will be using.
