Wireless (cellular) internet question

For the next couple of months I won't be able to get internet service from a wired provider. Is there any way to connect a desktop to the web with a cellular connection, preferably through the cell phone service that I already have (Verizon)? I have a Samsung A310 at the moment, but switching phones isn't a problem, since I was thinking of upgrading anyway.

TIA,

I have a wireless service for my laptop through Verizon but it is not cheap, you need a wireless card for the laptop and you have to sign a one year contract. The card is a cellular modem. It seems like there should be a kit that would allow you to use your standard cellular phone as your connection though.

I guess the easiest thing would be to call Verizon.

I found some kits from both Motorola and Samsung. It looks like I'll have to make my way to a Verizon store to find out whether they'll do what I want them to or not. I'll probably wind up having to upgrade phones, but it'll still probably be cheaper than paying for internet access at public kiosks :frown:

Ditch verizon and switch to Tmobile, free unlimited usage GPRS port 80 internet connection with any voice plan. If you need full port access, pay an extra $20 a month for it.

blodhi, thanks for the link. I'll have to do a little more research, but that might be just what I'm looking for. Switching service providers is always an option, but I'd rather not break my contract unless I have to.
