Wireless card not working

I just installed my new Netgear WG311 v2 wireless card and it will not work. At first the system was fux0r3d, but that is because the drivers that come with it are totally incompatible with WinXP SP2. The new drivers were downloaded and installed and all seems well except for the fact that it won't connect to the network.

The Windows app doesn't see the network, but the Netgear one does and claims to connect.

Any thoughts?
 
Lesson learned: NEVER EVER EVER use the hardware vendor supplied "utility" and just install the drivers...
