Wireless adapter not working now

I've had this happen before on a different comp where I installed a wireless network adapter and their software (in this case D-Link Air manager thing). I think it auto disables Windows Zero config and takes over as the manager. But, it wont see my wireless network or any others now. Tried uninstalling the D-Link soft and going back to allowing windows to manage the wireless network config. WZC is started...auto is on and everything, but still no luck in seeing any networks. The adapter is installed properly. It's a simple unsecured/unecrypted connection with a linksys router...it shouldn't be complicated.

I had this happen before and I think I messed with WZC stuff and it started working again, but this time no luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I think a remnant of the programme is still in your registry; look for possible names of you uninstalled software and remove the entries. Or: if you have set an earlier restore point, you can go to that point or restoredate before you did the install.
