wired to wireless problems????

Trying to set up a wireless connection on my existing network....

A D-Link, DI-704P router is being used along with a Uniden WNP1000 WAP. I cannot access the WAP when I try to using the default IP of 192.168.1.10? My router's default IP is 192.168.0.1.

Both my computers are showing on the D-Link configuration page, but only when hard wired- not wireless. It seems as though I need to get my router to recognize the WAP, but the only thing I can set in in the router configuration is the last 4 digits- (I don't think I can change the default table on my router to recognize a 192.168.1.xxx.

How can I get this to work?

The wireless card in my lappy is installed correctly, but I don't know where else to begin.

Setup the wireless access point with a computer not hooked up to any internet connection.

I just figured that out and realized what I needed to do. I'll post back later if it works. Thanks!!

In case that the DHCP is off on the Access Point (AP), you to connect the Access Point to a stand alone computer that is configured with an IP like 192.168.1.20 (i.e. the same band as the AP).

And you need to use a Crossover CAT5e to connect an AP to a computer.

Sounds like you have to set a static IP on the computer to the same subnet as the WAP. If they are on different IP subnets using DHCP, you wont connect to the WAP.
