The office network is as follows;

4 computers total (1 server)
Linksys WRT54G Router
All wired directly to the router.
All ip's static.

The system has been blazingly fast since it was installed for us back in Jan. Suddenly today, browsing documents on the server has become noticably slower. For instance, browse a folder, then hit back. It used to act the same speed as if I was browsing my local documents, now it kind of pauses for 1-2 seconds, as if its hanging or waiting.

Tried rebooting everything, router, all the computers, no luck.

Any ideas? No new computers have been added to the network and nothing changed on the server except updated virus definitions.

probably have a browse list/master browser problem.

are all the computers that same OS? Are you using netbios over TCP for file sharing?

something changed alright - you just don't know what it is.

yep, all XP Pro.

i'll have to check tomm in regards to the second question...

Could something on the server change by itself? No one touches it, except to reboot.

The slowdown is noticed on all computers.
