My old HTC Desire C came with a set of earphones with a built-in mic; it works fine as a handsfree kit on my Nexus 5 except that the button on the cable for terminating a call doesn't work on the newer phone.
This normally isn't a problem as I can usually except the other end to terminate the call promptly, except when my mother rings while I'm driving
I would consider a Bluetooth wireless jobbie if I absolutely have to, but I would prefer a wired device.
