Wired controller for the PS3?

dud

I was wondering if the PS3 can accommodate a wired controller or only wireless ones.

Please don't ask why ... right now.

Thanks ...

Thank you. I understand that they CHARGE by USB ... but when hooked up is the controller doing so wired or wirelessly?

I'm not completely sure. I would assume it shut off the Bluetooth function, as when you disconnect it, the controller seems to have to re-connect itself. There are USB controllers by third parties regardless though.

A quick google search shows wired ps3 controllers available. I can only assume that means the ps3 can accommodate them or they wouldn't be selling.
If your question pertains specifically to the sixaxis/dualshock, then I'm not sure.

They communicate via wired connection if they are plugged in. When moving between PS3s with controllers in my house it's how I get them to reassociate with a differnt PS3(it is instant as soon as they are plugged in).
