We listen to music at work, but we always have to run over and hit pause on iTunes when we get a phone call.

Can anyone think of a way so that I could rig something up so that when the phone line is busy, the speakers turn off / get no signal. When the phone line is not busy, it turns the speakers back on / passes signal through to speakers so we have music again.

Ideas?

If the phone has a light on it to indicate when the line is in use then wire a normally closed solenoid into there so that once the line is busy the speaker loses power.

Not to be a jerk, but if you have to ask if there is a way to do it, then you'd probably be better off not attempting to do it for fear of ruining electronics, burning an entire power outlet/phone outlet out, or worse, causing an electrical fire.
