is it possible the "shooters" on the hoot dried out or something? Trying to avoid having to bring this in to Mazda and loosing the car for the day...

You should hear the pump when you activate the washer. If you don't hear the buzz/whine of the pump, then check there first. If you hear the pump, then make sure the nozzles are clear of grime/dirt. You can use a toothpick to clean them.

Maybe you just completely emptied the hoses and you just need to press the button for a while? :D

I was thinking it would be easier to just hire a fluffer.

OP, you didn't use water did you? I don't think you're supposed to do that.

It can be one of about 3 items:

Pump not running.

Pump went bad trying to run it
with no washer fluid.

If you are in cold area of the country,
there may be ICE in the lines to the
Nozzles .. or the Nozzle is plugged
Use a small sewing needle to clean out
the holes.

you should have a rear one as well, check to see if that one works. Could just be a fuse or one of your pumps died. If it's a fuse then neither should work. However if the rear does and the front doesn't then it's more likely a pump. might want to fiddle around with the wires as well.

It's under warranty-just bring it in rather than risk screwing it (and the warranty) up yourself.

Your car has one washer tank for both the Front and the Rear Windows.
So that means that it may have 2 Pumps .. Otherwise when hit the squirt button
you would wash the front and rear window. Unless you only have one Wash
Button. Then it is a common Pump and the problem would be in the Lines
or Nozzles to the Front Window .. If it is 2 seperate wash buttons, you can test
the pump by swapping the wires. If the Rear still works, the other pump is ok.
If you have 2 switches, then you would check the Switch & Fuse for the other pump.
