and beeing pretty tired of people always argue af what some has said in other posts etc. etc. I was wondering if we should try to wipe the slate clean.

Lets say that after the 24th of december bitching about what someone has said before, refering to old threads if it's used as a personal attack etc. should stopped.

Also it would be nice if we could attack the arguments that we disagree with instead of attacking the poster of the arguments.

Just an idea.

Post if you would support this, and if you have ideas that could make it better.

100% agree Bio -I'm down for new ideas and a fresh start we waste so much brainpower bickering around a subject.

Good idea in concept but letting past disagreements go 100% by the wayside will be difficult in some cases.

In other cases, certain people will have to fundamentally change their posting styles and methods.

I know it's pretty optimistic, but if a majority supports it and tries to ignore the personal attacks then the mods might actually could uphold the "PERSONAL FLAMES WILL NOT BE TOLERATED" rule.

Basically I was just hoping that we who are tired of the personal flaming could show our flag and in union try to lessen these useless attacks, no matter which side of the political spectrum we come from.

It's not that you don't discuss things that has happened, just all the personal junk. Let the new posts speak for how we should judge the poster, and bury personal flames and other offensive material posted before. And try acting a bit more responsible not feeding flame wars with our own personal attacks but either just ignore stupid remarks or attack the arguments if they're worth it.
I think we all know that some persons you will never agree with. The best you can do is post your arguments and when you have no more arguments, and no-one has given in, you could just agree to disagree. A discussion doesn't need to have a winner, and a discussion ending up in flamewar only have loosers.

It's ofcourse just my humble opinion.

Yes and no.
Both sides obviously hold "The Truth", and defend it fiercely and attack the false Truth. That's what keep P&N going. But in that fight there will be persons we think of as thick headed biggots. What I just thought would be nice were if we didn't have to point it out in every thread linking to other threads etc. That ruins discussions and show nothing but short headed anger. I guess that the internet might be a good place to vent off the oppressed anger, but that isn't deep, that's just primal showing off.
