Winzip

Winzip can't really fix zip files, your best bet is to get WinRAR and it has a file repair in that, but most likely all corrupt files are unrecoverable so your best bet is to get the file again.

A friend was getting this error with a downloaded zip when he had a memory-resident virus that was corrupting self-extracting zip files, if it's a self-extracting zip you might want to check for that too.

If the zip is/was on a floppy the diskette may be bad, or the source or destination floppy drive may be way out of proper alignment.

Thanks for the replies.Winrar repaired it but the files I needed were no good after the repair. It looks like I'll have to get the file again. Thanks anyway🙂
