Hi Friends

Why is winzip so large, ie, 239mb (installed)?
Does it do tasks that im unaware?
Is a better alternative to be used/found?

I have no idea why it's so big, and honestly, I find it hard to believe. I wonder if you got some kind of "special" 3rd party packaging. Anyway, I use, and recommend 7Zip. It has some of the best compression in the business with the .7z format, and can extract almost anything. Also, it's small, free, and open source.
 
I've been using Peazip or Winrar for a while now. Would there be a reason to switch from Peazip to 7zip? Peazip works with .7z format as well.

Uninstalled winzip.
