WinZip, the original and most popular compression utility for Windows, is a powerful and easy-to-use tool that quickly zips and unzips your files to conserve disk space and greatly reduce e-mail transmission time. WinZip 10.0 is available as Standard or Pro.

The new WinZip 10.0 offers powerful new compression technology that creates even smaller Zip files. And the new Explorer-style view makes working with complex, multi-folder Zip files a snap.

WinZip 10.0 Pro includes the WinZip Job Wizard, a powerful tool that offers predefined data backup jobs, the ability to customize and schedule zipping tasks, and FTP-upload functionality. And with WinZip Pro, you can zip and burn directly on CDs/DVDs!

I used Winzip 6.3 for what seemed like ages. I remember seeing the interface in v7 and not liking it.

Now, it's all WinRAR or 7-zip for me.

Winrar sucks, it might not be a big deal to some, but it doesn't remember the last directory you extracted to. I do a lot of extracting, and have an overly complex directory structer. So every file I unRAR I have to type the directory in, takes too much damn time. IF Winrar add's this I'll switch, but for now I'll stick with Winzip.

WinRAR does everything WinZip does, & more.

For me anyway.

If there's some great benefit of Winzip...great. I don't need it :p

IMO, when you start argueing over which zip program is better, it's time to re-evaluate your priorities.

You have a point, however why pay for one when there are a lot of very good free zip programs around?

Another vote for ZipGenius, very nice layout and excellent on stability.
