winxp x64 won't let me install NFS:MW

Hey guys,

I'm trying to install Need for Speed: Most Wanted on Windows XP x64. The first thing I have to do is set AutoRun.exe to win2k compatibility mode just to get the installer to run correctly. My problem is that the install wants to update directx (which I've already done manually) but then it pops up with an error saying

The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with this version of Windows. The software will not be installed. Contact your system administrator.

Any ideas of how to get passed this crap?

install the game on another winxp 32bit computer and copy the game over to your x64 box.

i did this once before and it worked fine.
