Ok, so i just upgraded my system to an Athlon 1.4gig, ECS K7S5A, 512 DDR, 2x40gigs, WindowsXP.

Now, almost everytime it's been off for a while, when i boot it up, it goes past bios load, begins loading XP, but then just goes Blackscreen and nothing happens. Then, if i REBOOT without powering off, i get some weird ass beeps and nothing happens. But then if i turn it off, and back on, it'll work fine after showing the WindowsXP emergency menu.

What's causing this problem? Software/hardware?!?!?

Those beeps are POST error codes. Count them and check with the mobo makers website to see what they mean. Your problem might be some bad memory or a bad powersupply. You could also take out every thing that you don't need (or recently installed) and try to boot the computer, if you get no errors, then swap parts one by one untill you find the offender.
