I usually leave my comp on when not there (running downloads and whatnot), and lock it to prevent the less computer literate members of my family to mess something up. There's still the guest account that has no password, so they can check their mail and whatnot from there if necessary.
Lately, after signing out of the guest account to get back into my own, my computer seems to hang. The screen goes black, and the monitor's light starts flashing. I can't do anything except reboot. Tried entering my password in hopes that it's just a display error, but to no avail. However, the HDD light keeps flashing, as if the downloads were still running and the comp was writing the data to the disk.
Also, and I don't know if this is related, last time I rebooted from this freeze, the GUI took very long to start up, and a lot of things didn't show up in the system tray. The next day when I turned on the comp, I got a BSOD shortly after logging in (it said something about winsys32k.dll I think). Rebooted, and everything's been working fine since then.
Anyone have any idea what this means/how it can be fixed?
