WinXP to SP2

I recently decided follow this article and make a CD with XP and SP2 for my next reformat. However, the XP CD I have does not look like it includes SP1. My question is if I choose to integrate my XP CD with SP2 Network Installation Package(ie, the whole patch) will it apply the missing SP1 features?
