WinXP SP2 question

I noticed it (SP2) does'nt like my PC connecting to play multiplayer games and also noticed that it seems to hide Alexa (tracking cookie).

I uninstalled SP2 and everything seems better now.

I use a router and also a software firewall. I do not use IE.

Is my computer anymore at risk than if I used SP2?

There are many more "under the hood" improvements to SP2 that many people seem to forget about. Chances are you inability to play multiplayer games was because of the firewall which is on by default when SP2 is installed. Turning it off would have fixed that.

As for hiding the Alexa cookie I don't remember seeing it do that. As a matter of fact when I run Ad Aware it shows up on mine.

I installed SP2 again and now I am not having a problem connecting to multiplayer games such as BF-42.

I must have had a bad first install from the look of things.

I'm positive. I uninstalled SP2 as a last resort after trying everything else. All is well with SP2 now for some reason.

I can't say that I'm not puzzled over this one.
