I used windows update to update my XP to SP2. Afer installing & restarted, WinXP come to the welcome screen & ask me to key in password. But I never created any password before. Not even to my own profile. Now I can't get access to my windows. I tried the password reset tool which found from the internet but still no use. Anyone can help? And why this happen?

Yup. It doesn't. Even I go into safe mode & try login in as administrator also failed. Funny thing is that I didn't create any password at all during or after my XP installation. Only after I updated to SP2 does this happens.

in the login box type

USER: Administrator
PW: Whatever Password you set in your original XP installation.

Sorry if its no help.

If all else fails you might want to try a parallel install at least that will allow you to get access to the existing partitions.

Good luck
