I was working on my bro's computer and I noticed his screen refresh was low so I pulled up his display properties and there was no video card listed (he has a GF2 Pro) and the monitor was set to default. I D/Led the newest NV drivers and they loaded NP but I had the same problem after reboot.
The "display modes" is grayed and I tried all over to change anything to get it to see the video card or the monitor with no effect.
I tried running WINDVD and overlay failed, he tried loading MOHAA and OpenGL failed.

His specs:
MSI KT266a board
Duron 1gig
384 RAM
SB Audigy 2

Normal junket of software, Zone Alarm, Bitdefender AV (Don't know if he keeps it updated)

Well, any ideas?

You have a yellow dot in device manager?

Try uninstalling any video drivers & software, deleting the video card from device manager and rebooting.

It should reinstall with either an inbox driver or generic VGA, then just re-run the nvidia drivers.

I mailed him over Driver Cleaner 3 this morning, hopefully he will get back to me tonight. I don't remember what it showed as a display device under the device manager but I don't think there was a yellow question mark or anything there.
It's as though Windows doesn't care that there is no device listed.
