Winxp quick launch bar doesnt remember its setting

Everytime when i start winxp the quick launch bar only displays 3 icons while the rest are hidden. When i unlock the taskbar and resize it properly all is well, until i reboot and it shows only 3 again.
Its a small annoyance, but damnit its a fresh install what gives?

Windows XP has quirks. Sometimes, the Hibernation option in my Windows disappears. It's something I learned to live with.
