i just put together my new computer (my first time)
dfi lanparty (non-sli)
amd64 3500
x800xl
250gb maxtor hd

when i turn it on i get to bios fine, then i try to boot the windowsxp cd (it works)

so it starts to boot but freezes at "setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuratuin..."

any help?
 
The only thing that comes to mind is the memory and video card. Can you swap them out to see if it fixes your problem?
