I need alittle help deciding on what OS to buy for my parents(Win2k or WinXP) for christmas. They have been stuck on Win98 for awhile now and need a new OS. Since I have not used Win2k much other than for my photoshop workstation, I really do not know which is better. One major thing im looking at in my decision making is, exactly how does this WinXP registration key thing work. I have read FAQ's about it, but they still do not clear it up. If we want to install it on more than 1 machine, is that possible? Any way to disable this 1 key at a time deal. I read it takes your hardware config, so others can not use your key. If that is true, does that mean if you install WinXP and get new hardware or change computers, that it will not work again? Am I gonna have to call up moneysoft(microsoft), and have them change it every time we format or make a new install? Lastly, which OS do most people prefer more? Any help would be appreciated..
