WinXP Modem Files Missing

Hi, I got a hug problem that is annoying me. Well somehow I can not intall any type of modem on my computer. Mainly I'm trying to install drivers for my phone and my bluetooth dongle. They install but some devices say missing device, unable to start..etc. It's because the modem portion that does the communication is not installing. I can't get the modems to install.

It all started when I was in the registry cleaning out multile usb entries and what not. Didn't save and now have no kind of modem fuctions. Anyone know how to get windows to recognize its modem configs to properly load the modems?

I really need to get back my phone connectivity so I can upgrade it and update personal info. I've been like this for like 2 weeks trying to figure this out. And I don't want to reinstall windows to get it back working. Thanks

Actually I don't remember plus its waaay to late now. No one has any ideas on how to get the system to recognize/install a modem?

Hmm...My Lucent WinModem installed automatically in XP..................

Something to try is the internet fixes in the sticky for Malware in the software forum.

For win9x a program to fix is LSPFIX.EXE . For winxp the program is winsockxpfix.exe .
