WinXP Home, need new copy/CD-Key

I just built my new rig, and I'm happy to say everything works. However, as expected, Windows XP is a bit fussy. What it is, while I can install my old OEM version of XP Home, its saying the old "30 days to activate", and when I try, its not gonna let me use my old Key.
So I need a new key. Whats the cheapest bundle of XP Home, license, or even a purchasable key (if there are such things), that I can use the Key from, so I finally have full functionality. Again, I dont care if its SP1, SP2, or no SP at all, I just need a working key, and Im not a pirate.
 
Maybe you can talk to a Msoft rep and say that your mobo was blown and you had to get a new one.
 
I don't think it's exactly kosher to do this, but I installed my OEM XP Pro onto a completely different machine than it originally came from. Called up Microsoft via the 800#, spoke to their Indian rep and got it activated for the new computer. The catch is that the original computer is running 100% linux and will always run linux from this point on.

There are arguments that say that even this isn't "legal" since that OEM key is tied to the original computer no matter what.
 
Not if he intentionally does something to (unpermanently) "break" the old mobo before making the call to MS:evil:
 
If you got a legit copy of Windows than contact MS and bitch about getting not
being able to use it.

If its not legit, then go elsewhere for a fix.
 
Okay, I'll try it. And yes, I do have a legit copy of windows, but Im not sure if it counts, considering it came with a Gateway. Considering I can dig up that CD-Key, again, at least.

But anyway, in case this falls through, I'd still like to know how cheaply and where I can get a new copy or key.
