WinXP Double-clicking and Opening

Ok, this is driving me insane (amongst other things..)

I installed ACDSee 3.1 to view media files and set a bunch of file associations so that images would open through ACDSee. But when I double click..say a .jpg, Windows Picture and Fax Viewer opens it up. However, when I right click on the file and select Open, ACDSee kicks in.

When I went through explorer to check the file associations, .JPG has Open on ACDSee. How can I fix this?? Help me get rid of Windows Picture and Fax Viewer!!! EVIL!!

Right click on the image, go to Open With>Choose Program, choose the program you want and select "Always use the selected program..."

Do the same thing with your other images.

I believe you just selected the wrong jpg format for association with ACDSee (there are three: JPE, JPG, JPEG) as changing
the association in the Folder control panel does in fact change which program is launched when you double click.

Also, any files in My Pictures is by defualt set to open with Picture Viewer.
