WinXP desktop item fonts--how to change color?

I have a pretty light colored wallpaper now.. and so the text of the desktop items (which is white, with a shadow) is not very readable. Is there any way to change the text to black, with no shadow?

Thanks a bunch

Tried that, doesn't work in WinXP unless you go to performance settings and turn off the "use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop". So that works, but now there are these white boxes around the icon labels. Is this the only way?
