WinXP crashes when copying a certain folder to another HD

So, my Western Digital HD has been very screwy as of late. Its a 45GB HD but it kept thinking it was a 7.5GB all day long yesterday. Somehow, its ok now, and I'm just moving all my important files off it. However, there is a certain directory that causes the computer to crash when I copy files from it. I've gotten it to crash about three times now with that folder. This folder holds alot of program install files....dont know if that would play any role. Any ideas?

probably a system file in there somehow?

anyway try doing it in safemode as the normal windows files aren't loaded in safe mode

i don't honestly know if this will work but worth a shot

hope this helps

thanks for the suggestions. It must be something screwey w/ Windows or something. I was able to successfully transfer the files in Linux. Just one of those things that bug you...
