WINXP CD Key

This is quite comical. I downloaded RC2 today, got all the way to the point of the install where it needs the CD Key, so I read through the email sent along with it all:



<< THIS IS THE SAME PRODUCT KEY YOU RECEIVED TO ACTIVATE RC1. RC1 download customers received this product key in their initial notification e-mail. If you need this e-mail re-sent, please send e-mail to ddm-help@conxion.net. >>



I signed up after RC1 came out. Basically, I never got an RC1 key. So now I have my other computer sitting there waiting for a CD Key I was never sent. How long will it take for M$ to send the damn thing?

Well since RC1 was no longer avaliable for download after the 27th you may not get one.. there is a note there on how to get the RC1 notification &quot;resent&quot;. If you never got one they never charged your account for it likely, so therefore they may not be sending you one at all. You might want to email the support addy listed on the email and the website to get some kind of answer.

In the email I recieved:

PRODUCT KEY
During the install process, you will be prompted to enter a product key number.
THIS IS THE SAME PRODUCT KEY YOU RECEIVED TO ACTIVATE RC1. RC1 download
customers received this product key in their initial notification e-mail. If
you need this e-mail re-sent, please send e-mail to ddm-help@conxion.net. In the
subject line, include ?Re-send RC1 notification.? This e-mail must be sent from
the account you used when registering for the program. The response can only be
sent to the e-mail address with which you registered. RC1 CD customers received
the Product Key on the back cover of the CD case. There is no way to re-issue
Product Keys for CD customers.

Looks like an autoresponse. I would send an email to there and sit tight.

yeah, it is funny. Im gonna just install ME over again, I'll install XP once my key shows up.
