I uninstalled Win98 and reformated my hd and then installed XP Pro. When i boot my computer up i a screen that gives the choice to boot to Windows or XP Pro. It is like it is configured for a dual boot setup. I can get into XP Pro and everyhitng works fine, but all i get is a C: prompt when i go to windows. What can i do to fix this?

When you re-formatted, did you FDISK the drive? Somehow, something got left over in the MBR and XP thinks you are dual-booting.

I fdisked and re formated. I even went back into fdisk and there are no other partitions except the one for WinXP. Where could it be?

When you installed XP, it saw that Win9x was on the machine (even if you just did a format /s on the drive) and made your box dual boot.

Delete the reference in boot.ini and delete bootsect.dat (bootsect.dos? whatever it is) and you'll be fine.
