WinXP ACPI errors in Event Viewer

I seem to get two of these every reboot:

AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address (0xcfc), which lies in the 0xcf8 - 0xcff protected address range. This could lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

That link just says: Contact the system vendor for an updated BIOS and follow the vendor's instructions for installation.

Anyone what could be causing this? I have a KT133A chipset motherboard (KK266 no RAID w/ latest BIOS).

It means that your BIOS does not support ACPI under WinXP.
(if you have the latest update installed)

Is WinXP installed as a STANDARD PC or ACPI?

to check:
Start \ Settings \ Control Panel \ System \ Hardware \ Device Manager \ Computer

If ACPI, you would need to change the HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) to Standard
to get rid of the event errors.
