WinXP 64-bit vs WinXP 32-bit

I bet within the next 5 posts, someone will tell you to search.

But not me 😉

Windows XP Pro x64 and XP Pro regular are similar.

The differences are that x64 is of course 64 bit compatible and x64 is based on windows 2003 unlike xp which is based on Windows 2000.

My recomendation comes from having used XP for multiple years and x64 for several months: If you have all the drivers you need and an x64 compatible Anti Virus, then by ALL means go for Windows x64. Windows x64 is considerably more stable than XP Pro, as well as usually being faster in games and just about anything you could do on a computer.

This is false. XP64 is based on XP32 (as is Windows 2003). The XP SP2 base and the XP64 release bases are just about identical.

Windows XP64 is just a modified version of XP, unlike in linux where there are drivers/libraries and what not that are specifically compliled on AMD64 cpus which will performance increases.

Honestly, I would stick with XP 32 bit because WoW is just a sham.

 More inaccurate information. Windows XP64 is as native as the Linux ports.
