So does that look any good to you guys? It's really cheap (only $50) and I've been seeing it around CompUSA's shelves for like 2 years now. My objective is to watch television while I'm on the computer doing work. I have a television w/ cable tv in my room but the television is faced away from the computer (toward's my bed). So are there any reviews for this particular TV Tuner card? Are there any other TV tuners in the market that are around this low price range? Which one records the best quality for video?

Is this WinTV-GO FM Radio card any better?

Since you are using win98 and just want to watch tv then it should be ok. If you want to capture at high resolutions then you might want to think about another card. I had one of these cards and the XP drivers sucked and capture didn't really work in XP. I went to an All In Wonder 7500 and am pleased with it.

EDIT: you might want to post this in the video section.

Well I would get one of the All in Wonder cards but I already have a GeForce2 GTS. How much $$$ is the latest AIW that can compete with a GF3/4 in terms of FPS speeds (I'm a gamer)?

I bought a WinTV Go for $30 from Staples for vidcap purposes. I don't really watch TV with it but the tuner seems to work well. It does have drivers optimized for WinXP though, can't say how it is on 9x.

jaeger66: It is great that you are having good luck with that card. For me it was a nightmare to capture in XP.

I just bought one today for $30 and it seems to work fine. I have Win2k and I'm using it to play video games, but it seems fine for TV. The sound will be mono unless you use composite cables to route the sound directly to your soundcard, but I don't think it's a big problem for normal tv watching. It worked on the first try for me and I downloaded Dscaler too (search on google) which gives a cleaner image.
