WinTV Audio Problem

I have a WinTV Theater and I'm using the composite in to watch TV on my monitor. The video works fine, but I can't seem to get the audio to work.

When I test the audio in the configuration option, it works, but that's it. Has anyone else had this problem in WinXP?

Thanks.

Hey wetling...the RCA composite in is just video, right? Or do you have the audio coming in as well?

I have the audio too. Red, yellow, and white. The WinTV has an audio out cable that you're supposed to plug in to the sound card's audio in. I did that, no luck.

Make sure it is plugged into line in on your sound card and that line in isn't muted in audio sound properties.

Yeah, ok you're having the same problem I had. I had to turn off my sound card's option to have the line in double up as another output. Your sound card may have that option in the configuration. By default, the line-in and rear speaker shear the same jack and the microphone and subwoofer share the same jack. That way, I can configure my system to have anything I want. This is the onboard CMedia sound card on the Asus A7M266-D that I have; however, your's may be different. Just look for somewhere to change these settings. This may not even be the case at all...just a solution to my problem. Hope it helps...

When I switched to a Santa Cruz from my Live! card, I lost the ability to get audio with my ATI TV tuner card. No matter what I did, using the external cable to the LineIn port, or the internal cable, playing with all the settings, sound simply would not play. I finally gave up and just took the card out, went and bought a 27 inch flat screen TV. I don't miss the TV tuner. :) I finally got around to verifying, the LineIn does work on my Santa Cruz, so I can't help but think it's a driver issue for ATI and WinXP (surprise surprise).
