A winter storm developing over Oklahoma this morning will intensify and move towards the lower Great Lakes. This storm has a potential for significant snowfall.

Present indications are that snow associated with the storm will begin early Tuesday morning and continue through Tuesday night with total snowfall amounts in the 20 to 30 centimetres range. Strong easterly wind and cold temperatures may cause blizzard like conditions with cold wind chill values and blowing snow.
Well, we haven't had anything major like this yet this winter. I wonder if we will actually get a lot, or if it is all weather drama.

I know... they are saying closer to Ohio = more snow.
They (noaa) are saying could be up to double digits of inches of snow.
Probably for us (Oakland County) we won't get more than 3". :|

Yeah... this band looked a lot more solid this morning. Now it seems to be getting patchy. Maybe they will scale back the predicted amounts.

I'm kind of hoping for pure pwnage at this point but we'll see.

We've just got an advisory.
However, we're supposed to have freezing rain tonight, and then it's supposed to turn to snow. That should lead to a spectacular number of accidents tomorrow.
Yeesh, wunderground.com says "9PM: Definite snow" :(

I heard up to an entire foot in NY for tomorrow! I was so excited by the forecast doesn't look like it will cooperate.

exactly. i am too... but with this... 99 out of 100 times, they assume more snow fall than actually does. I would be surprised if we get more than a dusting.
(i hope i am wrong though)

I figured places like this had a standing "Winter Storm Watch" all season.

London got the biggest snowfall in 30 years in December. several feet of snow fell over only a couple hours time. I hope we're exempt from this one :)

I want snow in the DC area, not ice/freezing rain/sleet! 12-18" would be real nice!!! But I'll take 6-8"
