price drop to $79.99

When you do a search on Newegg, it shows up as $99.99 + free shipping, but when you click on it, you see it's $94.99 shipped, for instant $15 off. The reviews seem to be pretty good, although there are only 11 reviews. Appears to be good OC potential, but as usual YMMV.

Cheapest I've seen for 2GB at this speed w/o rebate so far. Prices may continue to fall for a while longer, but I don't know how much lower it can go past the $90 range. Good deal if you need some now.

Linky

I suggest you get it from ChiefValue.com instead, which AFAIK is the same as NewEgg, because it's the same price plus you get a free 512MB flash drive.

Sorry I tried to put up a link, but when I update my post the domain is all ***** for some reason. So just go there and search for the product.

based on the picture on newegg, the wintec looks like its using spectek chips which are the same as micron.

Don't know if it helps any but my Wintec DDR has made it through 3 PCs and is still going strong. Excellent system memory.

Good grief. Every time I think I have a good find w/ memory and pull the trigger, another deal comes up :D

I've also had good experience with Wintec. 1 GB DDR2 800 (2x512) working fine, no problems.

Well, maybe not UBER ;), but still good since the SuperTalents have heatsinks and these Wintecs and Patriots dont.

I'd actually rather have bare RAM because cheap ramsinks actually do more harm than good - not like it matters much.

They do more harm? Examples?
Only examples I have are shoddy vendor/seller installed heatsinks. Factory installed ones like supertalents are well done. I mean, we are all ears if you have some good info to back that up- nothing wrong with more info- thanks.

Cheap ramsinks don't dissipate heat well and actually restrict airflow and trap the heat in. That's just my limited experience with overclocking ram with and without ramsinks.

nice, thanks for the heads up. wonder how low prices will go.. heard it'll level off sometime in May, but I just read that somewhere so who knows... wonder if it'll hit $70/2gb.

I'm trying to decide between these and the Super Talent modules at eWiz.

Which ones are better?

well these are micron chips apparently. and the ewiz or the kingston valuerams are probably just generic taiwanese chips.

if you just wanna run them at stock i doubt it matters, but if you are gonna o/c i'd get these.

Thanks for the info. I would like to do a mild overclock, nothing too crazy. Seems like the Newegg reviews are very positive.
