Winspool.dll missing

I was able to print out a copy of my Daytimer info with 98SE - but now that I have XP Pro - I get the error message that I need winspool.dll.

Does anyone have a clue where to find this - or what to do to correct this?

can you find winspool.drv on your hard drive? copy it and rename it to winspool.dll

if that doesn't work, try running the program in a compatibility mode:

what's version of daytimer are you using?

I am using the old Daytimer 98 - bought years back. They have since quit making the software.

When I actually used it in 95 & 98 it worked fine, and printing was not a problem. It would on occasion hang up though.

On XP it works flawlessly - never hangs - but up till this point will not print. I will try the renaming of the drv file both in System and System 32, and let you know how it works - if at all. I have tried compatability mode - nothing.

Tried it all - no luck. I even done a search on my 95 & 98 install discs for a winspool.dll. It is not there.

I do wonder if it exists.

the renaming didn't work? open tools->Folder Options -> View, and turn off "Hide extentions for known file types" before copying the file. (Make sure it's not winspool.drv.dll)

do you have system files hidden? if so, they don't show up in search. search again for winspool.*

I think it's different on each version (95,98...) of windows....

Got it! It works!

I had to go file view in folder options and make sure that the extension was showing. Once I did that it was a matter of changing .drv to .dll. Then with a new .dll copy in system folder and in system 32 folder all was well.
