winrar vs winzip...

winAce for me. I have all of the unzip proggies but the only one i ever use because it does everything, including multi-unzip, is winAce.

edit: winAce opens every kind of archive file I've come across including tarballs.

I use Winzip most of the time. The only time I use WinRAR is when I need to unzip the downloaded CD cracks that I .... um... wait, nevermind ;) :p

i hate them both. i mean, how much space do you actually save?


but overall like winzip better, i wanna click on a file and have it un zip/rar. and rar seems to take longer. but again i generally dislike both.



what i really hate is when someone zips a 3mb file, and it unzips to 3.1mb, its just silly, you spend more time unzipping than d/ling.

Yeah but its easier to download ONE file of 3Mb rather than multiple files which equate to 3Mb. Zip files are not just about saving space - they are also used to use distribute numerous small files in one entity :)
