WinRAR splitting

I know it can be done but I'm stumped, I've been messing with it for 2 hours. I have a 6 gb .rar file of my parents photos, but I want to split them so I can fit them on DVD. What is the exact step by step procedure?
 
you know, I think you need a separate program for doing this..I tried a while back and could only do it by using an extra program.
 
winRAR will split archives while it makes them, but i dont know if it will split an already existing archive. i'm going to go look and get back to you.


edit: yeah, the only thing i can find is when you go to make a new archive, in the "General" tab, there is a drop down menu titled "Split to volume." I suppose you could unrar the thing and then re-rar it wit your desired size. HTH
 
It must be a RAR file to do this.

You can select the size you want to split into to fit various media. Do you have full or trial versions? Ours lets us split into various sizes and it's the full version.
