WINRAR & checksum

checksum verifies the files in the archive w/ no errors. but when i try to extract all the files in the archive it gives me three "Packed data CRC failed in ...." errors. if checksum says there is no errors what else could be the problem?

Still sounds like a bad file. Did you download it? If so try it again.

from my friend's ftp. he says the file extracts ok on his end but it doesn't on my end. but the checksum says there is nothing wrong w/ the files.

First try downloading it again.

If that doesn't work here is something else to keep in mind. Are you downloading in ASCII or Binary?? It will sometimes need to be one or the other. You should be able to find more information on this in your on-line help files.

i have redownload the files 2 times. i am downloading all the files in binary mode. which is how i usually do and i've never had any problems?

The problem still sounds like it's in your FTP client settings or software. Can he e-mail it to you??

it's a bit large.... i have used the same ftp client before though.. he should be home soon. if you have any other ideas though let me know. thnx
