Winrar 3.80 causes windows update to stop working?!

I have installed winrar 3.80 and afterwards I notice that windows update will not work. It says that it is turned off (even though it is on). I cannot even manually do a windows update thru internet explorer, it gets an error. If I uninstall winrar the updates work okay. I am running xp home sp3. Any ideas?

I installed winrar 3.8 about two weeks ago and the next day I noticed the windows security balloon saying that auto updates are turned off. I could not turn them on, so I manually tried to do a windows update and got an error, rebooted.. no help. The only change I made was installing winrar, so I uninstalled it, then went to windows update and worked fine. About two weeks later I installed the program again, same exact problem, once I uninstalled it, windows update worked fine... Weird! Time to format and reinstall lol.

 
Although I don't use WinRar very often, I noticed the same thing on one of my rigs too. Jumped back to an earlier set point with 3.7, and it works fine. Guess I skip 3.8. :/
