Winnie 3000+ oc help!!!

Hello, this is my first overclock and I managed to get it to 229 MHz FSB but when I go to 230MHz, it won't boot. Any suggestions?

Did you read the down and dirty A64 overclocking guide? It's the first sticking on this page. It may help you alot.

CPU: AMD64 (WINCHESTER) 3000+@2.66ghz 9x296fsb (1.45v)
htt: 3
MB: MSI K8N Neo4 platinum sli
HD:2x 200GB WD SATA RAID 0
HD:1X 200GB WD SATA
HD:1X 200GB WD IDE
RAM: 2X512 OCZ High Performance DDR400 revision 3
POWER: ENREMAX 480 NOISETAKER
DVD: NEC3500A
VIDEO: GIGABYTE 6600GT x2
cpu cooling ZALMAN 7000CU.

memory voltage is at 2.65
cpu voltage 1.4 + 5% (something for everyone to monitor voltage will fluctuate btwn 1.41 and 1.48 according to corecenter).
memory timings still stock 2.5 3 3 6 with 188 divider. effective rate 266mhz.
strangly enough, when I lowered timing to 3 3 3 6 computer would not post.
bios original 1.0 that came with board.
sata raid is on nvidia ports 1+2
dynamic overclocking off
agressive timing off
cpu spread spectrum off
sata spread spectrum off
pcie spread spectrum off
pcie clock 100
cool n quiet off

How do I set a divider?

Go into bios, cell menu, memory, then change memory timing from 200 to 188. If that does not do the trick, then lower it to 166.

I'm pretty sure 188 is a custom divider. Most of the time you'll see 200 166 and so on.

To find out the week, you have to take the HSF off and wipe off the thermal paste and it should be included in one of the serial codes. it's 4 numbers follow by 5 letters i believe, so like 0504CBBID.

Go to the RAM section in the BIOS. There's three choices - Auto, Manual, and SPD. Choose SPD.

I tried oc'ing again and it wouldnt boot at 245MHz ( which is what I need to get to 2.2GHz ). Anyone know the fix to this problem?

P.S. - I'm running this computer on a 300w Antec PSU.

PS you need to get a better psu before you even think about overclocking. Please do your research next time before you burn your proc out and come crying on here about it...(Sorry to be the arse that breaks it to you)
