(Winkey + R) + (Space) + (Shift + Left) + (Control + X)
Try it.

This has become sort of a disturbing habit for me recently and I've been doing it EVERY SINGLE time.

2 reasons:r
-I have a fear of deleting spaces (spacophobia), they feel the need to be cut in an indirect way
-The space will be given to the clipboard for use.

It's too addicting now. I can't stop doing it. Every time I want to clear the clipboard (or fill it with a space) I do that.

Every time I want to delete that extra space from the end of my post I do everything aforementioned except Winkey + R.

Just thought I'd share a disturbing revealation that I've come to realize. :Q

i have a similar habit. i tend to cut whatever i want to delete instead of just deleting it, often overwriting what i had in my clipboard without realizing :confused:

For me a Win Key is just as important as having a mouse with a scroll wheel. Once you've used a machine with it you will never go back.

That is only for access to the start menu. Win Key + multiple keys for shortcuts.

WinKey + E - Explorer
WinKey + R - Run Menu
WinKey + Pause/Break - System Properties
WinKey + D - Show Desktop
WinKey + F - Find
WinKey + CTRL + F - Find Computer
WinKey + L - Lock Workstation

These are just a few that I use on a daily basis.

(Winkey + R) is a powerful combination. I use it to open up Paint, Notepad and Calculator. So much better than clicking the damn mouse.

When I browse, I open up the browser then (Ctrl + L) and type in the address because I'm too lazy to move the mouse to the address bar. Anyone else do this?

I didn't know about that combo. I've always used Alt + D to access the address bar.

Too many keys to push :(. Also winkey is used for many keyboard shortcuts (Winkey + L, Winkey + R, Winkey + F, Winkey + D - I use this one a LOT when parents used to sneak behind me when I was doing things I wasn't supposed to ;))

I don't get it...all that to copy a space? WTF??????

NO! You're WRONG.

It
1) Opens the Run box
2) Types in a space
3) CUTS (not copies) the space
4) Leaves the run box open for your viewing pleasure, for you to run Windows/DOS commands at ease (ex: winword, mspaint, deltree /p *.* <-- JKJK DONT DO THIS UNLESS YOU WANT TO REFORMAT, cmd, msconfig, etc).

Reasons for doing this

Firstly: It's very satisfying to confuse your peers on AIM/MSN

Friend: WTF ARE YOU DOING?

Secondly: Before I knew of the 'delete' key I used to use (control + shift + left) + (control + x) to delete any word, so this is .... very much satisfying.

Thirdly: If you, by any chance, had a 2MB image that you're not supposed to be viewing in your clipboard and your parents accidently hit paste.... you're screwed. By doing this EVERY SINGLE TIME I leave the computer I feel safe ;).

Fourthly: If you have a 512MB image (don't ask) in your clipboard your system would crash. Doing this thing would clear the clipboard.

Fifthly: Having a friend nearby when you do this makes you appear to be all knowing / very good with computers.
Me: WINKEYRSPACESHIFTLEFTCONTROLX!
Friend: WTF DID YOU JUST DO?
Me: I cleared the clipboard
Friend: HOLY SH!T.. HOW'D YOU DO THAT?

Sixthly: I feel that 6 is an excellent number to end with, and I'm wondering if such a word "Sixthly" even exists.

I hope your sarcasm meter is all the way up.

Control+L is one of the many things I do. Also I'm used to tabbing a lot and shift tabbing to click links. Is it just me or do I hate the mouse?

I hate the mouse too. I don't like using it when I don't have to. That's why I'm a HUGE fan of the gmail keyboard shortcuts.

However, the MOST IMPORTANT one is (Shift + F7) in MS Word.
