Damn Wingz I always enjoyed reading your posts. I learned a new thing everytime I read what you post. Please man, don't leave. You are an integral part of this forums. Don't let the fools that Red Dawn so vividly described a few months back get to you. Post for the people who enjoy your posts. Don't leave because of the people that don't enjoy them.

The Mods are letting everything else "pass" here. . . . . why not a "worthwhile exception"?

I have a feeling John will be back eventually. Although I do not condone the flaming he got (at all), he did sort of "ask for it" with his last "Intel is NOT evil" post in GH.

Yes, he will be missed. The best way to tell him is by PM (he said he will be reading those for a few days).

I hope he did'nt leave because of a flamming, or acusations that he may be biased towards Intel, or any other fellings of disgust. Hopefully he got a job promotion and is just too damn busy to maintain an AT Forums personality.

We need a diverse cross section of knowledge and sensible computer nerds to propel these forums ahead. Hopefull, he and others who have parted ways will drop back in from time to time to enlighten us with their "2-cents".

Wingznut has decided to leave AT, it's lost it's entertainment value for him and I think he's getting pretty sick of putting up with zealotry and people coming down harshly on him b/c of where he worls.

That thread isnt the sole reason he is leaving, but it does pretty much does sum it all up, though.

Anything more is for him to explain if he so chooses.

And for those who commented about PM... yes, I've already expressed my comments to him directly through PM and ICQ, as have a few others that I'm aware of. Still, I think others deserve to know of John's leaving... and this thread does serve to inform people.


BTW: Thanks for not locking this thread Mod's!

people come on this forum to exchange information - u CHOOSE what threads u want to view...skip over the intel bashing, no biggie.
as soon as the forum loses appeal - leave...no biggie.

Thanks for letting us know Rand. I was semi-aware of Wingz's decision to leave due to the tributes in the signautures, but until I found this topic, I had no idea that John had decided to call it a day.

Thanks for the info. You never realise someone has left until it is pointed out.

I just wish there was a way of telling when everyone 'left'.

Do you want me to answer that honestly?
Sometimes I wonder which it is..... we have people that are practically die hard zealots that would throw their life away before they'd say anything less then complimentary to their favored company. And take anything negative about their preferred products as a personal insult.
That's so sad and pathetic it also makes this whole forum remind me of a soap opera.

Sometimes that's easier said then done. Especially when as in Wingz case you almost had people following you around and debating any fact you posted simply because of your company of employment.

I buy intel cause I LIKE INTEL.


I dont buy amd as a choice,nothing against amd.


I happened to read most of wingznut pez's posts as they left me with both sides of the coin to look at.


In these forums that does seem rare as most are one sided.

It was nice of wingznut pez to share the level of expertise he had and to offer his side to the world as
an alternative to one sided thinking.


That said i like that theres always two sides to a story it adds the spice of life and ALLOWS us
as individules to CHOOSE what part we take. And what we learn is diversity......
