winfast tv2000xp-> can it capture straight to divx with 3rd party software?

here is my problem, i love my tv card, i carpture in mpeg2, but when i go to virtual dub to recompress it, it gives me a synchronisation error every time (i recorded the chapelle show last night)

i also tried flaskmpeg, that ran for a while and said it was done, but there was no file it created.

so what am i doing wrong, and is it possible to just capture straight to divx (using processor for realtime compression as its recording).

or should i capture in avi, then recompress afterwards?

Try ShowShifter. I use it all the time and it can compress to any codec on your computer, but it prefers DivX5, works like a charm for me. Hope this helps.
