Ok, for the HTPC, i need tv + some capturing. how's the quality compare for these two (looking at the AIW 9000), imagewise.

I'm looking at the winfast now because it will be a cheaper solution and still ahve a remote (paired w/ a 9000 non-AIW).

Any opinions?

Well, for simplicity and same final output, the winfast. You can get something similar acheived through ATI's but it needs to use DScaler which just adds complication. Winfast's quality is much higher IMO. Yes, I have used both and currently own both, and if I ever buy another one, it will be from WInfast.

No question about it... go with LeadTek.. I used to be an AIW diehard... until I got a Winfast TV2000 Deluxe. Now I can't figure out why ATI even sells AIW's. ATI software has always been EXTREMELY buggy and the TV replay feature was a joke. I have had no problems with the software with WinFast board. Seems to work good. I noticed no quality difference between the ATI and Winfast board.

Question is... how is LeadTek selling a board with these capabilities for $48? The only thing that could make it better would be to go to a UHF remote vs the Infrared remote.

Obviously, because everyone doesn't share your experience. My AIW cards have proven themselves for years.

Well, I too have owned all-in-wonder cards and have been happy with them. I've owned the 9700 and 9800 aiw cards. The quality has been exceptional. But, I've also owned the winfast tv tuner, and overall, I prefer the winfast card. The channels chance much more quickly, and the quality of the image is superior to the ati card. I do like the remote and the inputs of the ati better, but, the winfast is still my favorite.

wow...I was suprised to find this thread, because I have the same question.

I just assumed the AIW would be better because of the name and popularity, but the Winfast is so much more affordable. Now I'm confused as to which one is the best one to get for the HTPC/PVR I want to build. The three that I'm trying to compare are:

WinFast DV2000
WinFast TV2000 XP Expert
WinFast TV2000 XP Deluxe

If anyone can shed light on the differences and which one I should get, I would greatly appreciate it.
