Wine Recommendations - under $10

:beer: to you for the Bogle recommendation. EXCELLENT merlot for the price.

Just slightly over $10 is Leaping Lizard chardonnay ($10-12). Fantastic, and not as dry and overfruity as the Kendall Jackson.

 
I personally have grown fond of Ecco Domani's Pinot Grigio. A very nice light taste to it. I've tried other budget-brand pinot gris wines and none have been near as good for whatever reason.

Just got a mixed case of Rosemount: Shiraz/Cab, Merlot/Cab for $2/bottle!! 😀 Best deal EVAR.

I am a fan of Chiliean Zin and Cab wines. They are really consistent from year to year because of the climate. Most are right around $10 - Los Vascos, Concho y Tora, Castillo el Diablo are all good bets.

Going OT a bit...Best $20 bottle (very special occasion for me) I've ever had - Folie a Deux winery from Amador County, CA. Their Zins are spectacular!! They are hard to find, but worth every penny. The name Folie a Deux means "Two people having the same dream" in French...Cool. 🙂

I prefer that over the varied White Zinfandel (Beringer, Sutter Home, etc.)

Another great find:
Campo De Borjas, Borsao (2002)

I usually stick to wine of my home state just because it's more familiar but the lady at the store told me to give this a try. Very, very full body, low tannins, heavy berry note, almost a jammy texture. Incredibly drinkable and satisfying.

Found it for $8.99 at Bristol Farms, meaning it should easily be found for $7.99 anywhere else.
 
woodbridge anything is pretty good for about that price. as is fetzer.

oh and a Yellow Tail shiraz is fantastic.

Yeah, the Aussie wines are really crisp because they never see a barrel.

I'm spoiled because with my employee discount I can get Bonterra, Jekel, and Sonoma Cutrer for 50% off 🙂
 
^^^^ YARF. I've tried about a half dozen Aussie and New Zealand wines from Trader Joes and ended up pouring most of them down the sink.

However, I do recall one NZ wine that I found in some backwater liquor store that blew everything out of the water. I'll have to go back and see if I can find it again; if I recall, it was pretty cheap too.

Second on the Fetzer. Their Reisling and Gewurztraminer are excellent wines. Beringer also makes a white merlot that is very smooth as well.
